Ukrainian Canadian Congress-Ontario Provincial Council expresses its deep condolences on the passing of Stefan Andrusiak on September 7, 2023, in London Ontario.
Stefan was well known to us as a founding member of the Ukrainian band Rushnychok from Montreal, and as a journalist, broadcaster, and teacher. Besides working for CTV National News and the CBC, Stefan travelled all of North America and settled as a mentor of young journalistic students at Fanshawe College in London. His final tribute was his radio podcast, called “Nasha Kasha” which provided us with wonderful anecdotes and stories of Ukrainians in Canada.
We remember Stefan also as the long-time Vice-President of UCC London Branch, and as the President of UCC-OPC from 2012 to 2015. Our community has lost a very talented, intelligent and dedicated leader.
UCC-OPC sends its deepest sympathy and condolences to his bereaved wife, Larysa, and their 3 children, Natalie, Michael, and Paul and their families. May Stefan find everlasting peace in heaven and may his memory be eternal!
